However, coatings should not be used to hide structural deterioration or active corrosion. They need the right dry-film thickness, compatible primers where required, and a clean, sound substrate. On heavily moving metal roofs, a coating-only approach may not be the best long-term answer unless the system is designed specifically for that movement.
